Overview
We will no longer accept walk in testing. All test takers must register on line for each test they are taking.
The Department of Licensing offices may have limited in person services. Endorsements and permits may be added online at the DOL website if you have successfully completed all the testing necessary. Even though you may have passed the tests, you are not legal to ride until you have visited the DOL service office or have added your permit or endorsement online.
Test Overview
This is the skills test required to add your Motorcycle Learners Permit to your Drivers License. You must also pass a Permit Written test to successfully complete the permit process.
The Skills Test consists of 5 evaluation runs that test your ability to Weave, Turn from a stop, U-turn, Brake, Swerve and Corner. This test will be administered at our training facility located at 2125 Robertson Drive, Richland WA.
The Skills test will be administered on your motorcycle. Training bikes are not available for use by those challenging the test!
Your motorcycle will undergo a brief safety inspection. We will check for adequate tire tread, no leaks, that the brakes operate propery and that the throttle rolls back to the idle position unassisted from a rolled on position and that your tabs are current.
Once the required written and skills tests are successfully completed, you may visit aDOL office in person or visit them online and have your Learners Permit added to your license. Your test results are good for 180 days.
Additional testing, both written and skills tests are required to complete the endorsement process.
